| I have been a fan of The Prince since college,
and during troublesome times in business have refereed to it for guidance,
and have recommended it to many friends for its strategic insights. Many
of them commented that they could not get beyond the antiquated language
and examples, so I decided that this classic needed a straight forward
line by line modern transcription for business. It turned out to be an
excellent learning exercise as well.
I admire his approach in that he looks at managing a Principality (company) as a lifetime effort, not a get rich quick scheme, and making the people (employees) happy is of the utmost importance to achieve long term success. Of course, anyone who challenges your leadership must be dealt with quickly and firmly, to put it mildly, but that is a fact of life anyway. I am interested in finding a publisher, and plan to add some excerpts to this page in the future. |
